I was born and raised in the Philippines, but I’ve been prairie living in Canada since I was 11. I’ve always been a creative at heart — before photography came along, I was sketching portraits, painting with acrylics and oils, or dancing whenever I got the chance.

I also grew up in a family that loved documenting everything — birthdays, road trips, even the everyday moments. Taking photos felt second nature. But it wasn’t until grade 9 that I really noticed photography as an art. A friend of mine had professional photos taken back in the Philippines, and I remember being completely mesmerized. They looked like something straight out of a magazine. That’s when I told myself, “I want to learn how to take photos like that.”

hello, I'm jheIke!

(JAKE)

And if you know me, you know I go all in when something excites me. I saved up for my first camera, photographed everything through high school, and fell in love with creating. At the time, I didn’t even realize photography could be a career — I just knew it made me happy. When nursing school came along, I had to put the camera down for a while, but in 2020 my love for photography came rushing back. I haven’t put it down since.

If we meet, you’ll quickly learn I don’t take myself too seriously. I’m a goofball who loves to laugh, bond over good food (sushi, Korean BBQ, and Filipino dishes are forever my comfort zone), and dream up my next travel adventure.

And at the heart of it all? I’m a romantic. Weddings feel like home because they’re full of connection, joy, and those fleeting little moments that say everything without words. Being trusted to capture that kind of love story is the best part of what I do.

Artful storytelling for the modern romantic.
